Miaja, Nakockitatowin otci anicinabemowin (honoring the Anicinabe language)

On September 12 and 13, 2019, Kebaowek and Wolf Lake
will host the second edition of Miaja, a unique get-together
event celebrating Anicinabe art, culture and
heritage.
The 2019 edition of Miaja will revolve around the theme of the Anicinabe language. While coinciding with UNESCO’s International Year of Indigenous Languages, it is essentially because our language is in danger of becoming extinct that we chose to put it at the center of our celebrations.

Les 12 et 13 septembre prochains, Kebaowek et Wolf Lake seront les hôtes de la deuxième édition du rassemblement Miaja, un événement qui célèbre les arts, la culture et le patrimoine anicinabe.

L’édition 2019 se déroulera sous le thème de la langue anicinabe. Ce choix concorde avec l’Année internationale des langues autochtones déclarée par l’UNESCO. Mais c’est avant tout parce que notre langue est menacée de s’éteindre que nous avons choisi de la placer au centre de nos célébrations.
